Stairway to Heaven- Haiku Stairs

Thanksgiving Day - Haiku Stairs

Started at 4:15 am...at the back of Makena Street in Kaneohe.  It was pitch black!  We had to hop a fence:

Then we had to hike in the dark, though the mud and then under another fence that smelled like poo!  Finally after about 45 minutes we got to the trail head of the Haiku Stairs:

Mind you, it's still PITCH BLACK!

So up we head...

We got to the first landing where some Marines were hanging out (and acting stupid).  The first landing gave us some amazing views:

Before long the Sun came up and we drudged ahead.
